Installing a Furnace in Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN and Surrounding Areas
Making the choice of a high-quality gas furnace or other HVAC equipment for your home is a complex decision that will affect the comfort of your home for years to come. At our Minnesota locally owned residential heating and air conditioning company, based in Minneapolis, we take great pride in helping Twin Cities homeowners choose a new or replacement furnace or central AC system that is an ideal match for their home and budget. We supply and install the full line of Carrier and Payne equipment at highly affordable prices. Installing a Furnace in Minneapolis, St. Paul, MN and Surrounding Areas can be done by Residential Heating and Air Conditioning.
Our pricing for these systems is highly competitive with other HVAC contractors in the area, but we never use the high-pressure sales tactics some other use to sell you the products that make the most profits for them. Instead, we work hard to give you the information you need to make your best choice. We answer your questions objectively and leave the important decisions to you as in informed consumer.
How an HVAC System Is Installed
The proper installation of your new or replacement gas furnace or other products is crucial. Our superbly trained technicians are our own employees, who follow the highest standards for all workers. Unlike unfamiliar contractors picked at random when you make a purchase at a big box store, our factory-trained technicians are closely supervised, never take shortcuts, and work efficiently to help keep costs as low as possible. In our free, no-obligation consultations, we help you select the best equipment and give you an all-inclusive price quote that you can count on. At the same time, we help you qualify for available factory and utility rebates for maximum savings.
Then, with your signed agreement, we go to work to get your new system up and running perfectly. We’ll schedule the work promptly, show up on time and meticulously install your system, efficiently and correctly. Here are the steps in this complicated job:
Scheduling, Equipment Supply, and Preparation
We’ll schedule the work as the first step. In winter, we can often replace a failed furnace and restore home heating the same day. For non-emergency replacement, we always get your work scheduled promptly. If we don’t have your selected Carrier or Payne model in stock, we can supply it quickly from the Midwest’s largest HVAC warehouse. We’ll obtain any necessary permits from your city or other jurisdiction, so you won’t have to worry about that detail. We’ll also schedule necessary inspections, as needed.
Removal of Your Old Equipment
We’ll remove your existing furnace and any other HVAC units. Our technicians will carefully handle this job without causing damage to your home. We’ll move the old equipment up from your basement completely and transport it for proper recycling. If we’re also replacing your central air conditioner at the same time, we’ll safely capture the refrigerant in that system for reuse and to avoid releasing greenhouse gases into the environment. Our technicians will clean up and remove any debris completely.
Delivery of Your New Gas Furnace
Once the old units are removed, we will deliver your new furnace and any other equipment, such as a whole house dehumidifier and air filtration system. As with the removal, we’ll take extraordinary care to prevent damage. All packaging material will be removed. Your new equipment will be properly installed at its new location. Any needed work to provide a proper mounting platform is part of this process. Special attention will be paid for the correct orientation and positioning of your new system. Our experienced technicians are experts in this process.
Connecting to Your Gas Line, Plumbing, and Electrical Wiring
The steps involved in this process may require new gas line plumbing, electrical wiring, and changes in your air duct system. How much work this requires depends on the configuration and size of your old equipment. In many cases, we will have selected a model that requires a minimum of changes, but if you have purchased a high-efficiency condensing furnace, we may have to install a new venting system and a drain line to handle condensed water in the secondary heat exchanger. We’ll also connect your thermostat, humidification equipment, and other accessories.
Testing for Proper Operation
Once your new system is ready, our technician will thoroughly test every aspect of its operation. We’ll check for proper ignition, correct temperature control, and thermostat operation. We will run tests on every operational mode. We’ll check carbon monoxide levels thoroughly in and around the flue and vent, as well. We’ll make sure your central AC is also operating properly with the furnace and test for air duct connection leaks and proper air flow. We’ll schedule an inspection by your city or county building inspection authorities, too.
Clean Up and Instructional Information for Owners
We’ll thoroughly clean up the work area to remove all debris, leaving your basement area neat and tidy. Finally, our technician will explain all aspects of operating your new system and answer all of your questions. We’ll give you a packet with all manufacturer information and instructions, too, which should be stored safely for later access. We never leave the job until you’re satisfied. If your city inspector notes any issues later, we will return to correct those immediately.
How Long It Takes Depends on the Complexity of the Job
You may wonder how long installing a new furnace or a combination of a furnace and central AC system will take. A typical job may take just a single day, or require additional time to complete. It all depends on how much work is needed. During our early consultation with you, we’ll give you an accurate estimate of completion time. If unexpected complications occur, we’ll keep you updated on the time for completion. Our expertise and efficiency assure you that the job will be done correctly and promptly.
